This years display of beauty. Strange spring kept the yellow accent plant from blooming at the same time as the Rhodi. Bummer. If your looking for good shade plant that blooms, rhodi's are a great plant.

Thanks, who made that purple pot on the right. Love the glaze.

It's a Japanese pot.I believe it is a Koyo pot, but I'm not real knowledgeable about those things. I did show it to and American potter who was jealous. They said in order to get bright colors like that the glaze probably has lead, which is illegal here. I don't eat too many meals out of my bonsai pottery, but whatever!!

Nice! BTW, the Koyo pot is likely Juko Koyo, son of Aiba Koyo. Great combo!

It is a beauty! How long do the blooms last on it?

About two weeks if I keep the rain off it. I bring it inside on rainy days. A heavy rain will put it out of business.

I bring a tree to church every week. The weeks I bring something that flowers, there is a huge buzz about it. I need some more flowering varieties!! Not because of the buzz, but people really go gaga for the flowers.

Love the flowers. Love the purple pot...but (to me) does not compliment the plant w/ same color flower. I believe it will go better with other bonsai. JMHO

There are three ways to go when trying to enhance color schemes.

1. Match colors, have everything in a general range. I use the yellow accent plant to set it off.
2. Opposite the color wheel. Purple and yellow finds themselves in this category. Go Vikings. I don't have or know of any yellow flowering plants.
3. One step away. This option would be orange. That would be kinda cool. Are there any orange flowering bonsai? Is there a salmon colored azalea that anyone knows about. I'm not up on the variety of colors that make good bonsai. Ideas??

I agree but normally with this choice, it is just a tinge and color is not as powerful and rich as this pot. :) Again, I love the pot.

That pot will always struggle to not overpower the tree. Your frame shouldn't be more impressive than the art itself. I have two pots that have the same issue. They almost require a spectacular tree.

I'd go finding anything with orange => yellow => yellow-green. It doesn't have to be flower, maybe you can find a light green (yellow green) foliage tree for this pot instead?
