Roadside Bonsai Material

Cheers. Maybe its because im new to this but to a certain extent im not too concerned about my tree's looking damaged. Gives them more character in my opinion
It does... When done right. Irregular scarring that could be damage from an old storm or lightning strike... A big, gaping hole in The tree that makes it look ancient and like it has lived through some rough times... These things can add character to a tree!

Perfectly parallel circles wrapped around the base of the trunk, or uniformed spiraling rings of scars going the length of a branch... Not so much.

What did you pot this guy in BTW, and what are the red things on the soil surface? It looks like... Is that aquarium gravel?

That is true. I just potted in bonsai soil that I got from the local shop and yes that is aquarium gravel. Black gravel and then some red. Red wasnt my preference but its all I had laying around. I kinda of love it kinda of hate it

I scrapped the moss of the path outside my unit. My neighbors probably think I am very odd when they see me doing this haha.

You never saw Ghost Busters? I am pretty sure THIS happens!:

You're thinking of streams. If you cross streams, well ... try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light. Total protonic reversal.

Pretty much the same thing... Right?
