Robert Steven will be releasing another book soon "Mission of Transformation" and I understand that a few select members of various forums have given permission for their pictures to be used in it. I think this was a great way for getting examples to use in the book and Robert certainly showed resourcefulness in acquiring such.

This next book will be a great follow-up to his last and the inclusion of photos from familiar people will be an added bonus.

I know Eric Newton of Michigan has a picture in the book, and John does, anyone else?

His first book broke away from the "how-to" tradition when he decided to focus on the artistic aspects of bonsai.

I was shocked when I recieved his first book, it in itself was a work of art. It is so nice that I find myself being overly cautious when handling it. ;)

Robert's new book gets away from the "how" that is so common and gets into the "why" which is rare in bonsai books, or even on the foums for that matter.

That sounds like a good resource, I believe that the more you understand why, the less you apt to jump into mistakes, or be befuddled by so called shortcuts, neither works in our benifit, especially concerning bonsai.

Good news. Thanks Will I'll keep an eye out.

I am kind of hesitant to say too much but I have seen portions of this book and I believe it will knock peoples' socks off.

Will, is Vision of My Soul the title of Mr. Steven's first book you refer to?

Vision of my Soul was an excellent book by Mr Stevens.

I was lucky enough to recieve a copy of it on behalf of Mr. Pall. It came with a had written passage and letter from Mr. Stevens. This is a book that I will hold onto for the rest of my life..... Very awesome!

I look forward to his new book......

His first book has been re-released in soft-cover, still filled with valuable information, but there is just something about the first limited edition with that silver inlaid leaf....truly a treasure indeed.

Well, the cat is out of the bag over at AoB thanks to some prizes for the AoB Awards, so I might as well share Robert's new book cover, which can be seen here.

I had the extreme honor of being asked to edit Robert's new book and I am happy to say that after much work, I had a great time doing it. Printing should be done late this year or very early next year. Robert is still working on sketches, pictures, and captions, but other than that, the book, in my humble opinion, is a great sequel. Robert certainly did a great job sharing his knowledge once again.

I look forward to seeing it in print!

Here is a rough draft of the cover.

Sorry, the contents will have to be seen in the book itself. ;)

Will, it certinaly isnt a traditional bonsai book cover but then these arent the traditional, run of the mill bonsai books.
I like the cover and if the second book is half as goods as the first, it will be well worth the money.

I wonder if the cover might be a little racy for some?

What do you think?

I can't think of many people who would find the Vitruvian Man racy.

Wow... a penis. Forget the fact that it's one of the most iconic images humanity has to offer...
