I know that scheffleras are easy to root, and my mom brought me this cutting off of her HUGE patio plant.

It’s been in water since she cut it yesterday, and said that the middle stem just started slumping over today.

My question is, can you root the small stems as well as the main trunk?

I’m going to cut most of the leaves off in a little while, put some rooting harmone on the center trunk, and pot it. But if the center stem, and the other stems that I prune off will root as well, I’d like to plant those too.

Note that what you refer to as stems, are leaves. You have one tem with a number f leaves. You cannot root the leaves.
