I was on reddit and subscribed to the bonsai section and some people do post the most interesting things. This one redditor posted a soil calculator link. You can mix your own soils "digitally" and will give you a 72 hr calculation of how the soil you've composed will dry out throughout the 72 hours. I am not sure how accurate this is; but, it is interesting to see your mix' effectiveness. I found you can click on one selection more than once which represents soil "parts" so if you clicked on 4 things; however, if you clicked on akadama 3 times, it'll mean you added 3 parts akadama.

Enjoy this! It gave me something to think about!

That's what I was thinking, that's my main soil component Aaron
Maybe use something simular (or mix something like lavarock+acadama to approximate it?) Btw, it also doesn't take in account wich season and how hard u pour the water from which height and the angle and temperature of the water ;) :p

@Cypress187 you sir, are funny.
Haha, it was more of a joke (which u almost got, hence the word 'funny'), I only wanted to illustrate there are other factors also not in the caclulator, which is absolutely fine ofcourse.

At what oz/in3 of water is the soil dry (not completely dry ofcourse) and in need of being watered again?
