Collected this past fall... put it in a grow box and let it recover. Didnt know if it would live but it did so... now here it is. It will not close cuts easily so larger chops and cuts will most likely need to be hidden by foliage. Did some minor structural work and wiring today.

Worked on this through the afternoon. Some snippy snippy and light wire added. I took out the front branch. Unfortunately, the one behind it appears dead so... might have a deadwood feature or simply remove it.

The planting gets a lot of suckers around back. Next year Ill likely repot and reduce the root mass a bit.

Main apex is still a work in progress.

Will start working on this again this week. It takes some time to go through... A few parts died back. Need to review and see what could have caused the issue. Otherwise everything looks very healthy. Might need to consider redesign due to die-back.

I never see them with substantial trunking or branches so that's why Im going for it with this one. It needs a lot of work still and I need to eventually deal with the jagged chop points. Still feeling it out.

I think, that cold in winter wasn't the reason for dying back. I wouldn't be surprised that the reason for that is below the surface...

Fair enough. Im going to get this repotted next year. Ill be careful on watering.
