Telperion Farm on fire

I feel awful about everyone’s tragedies ...

I have yet to say anything here because, “you don’t walk INTO a joint when there’s already a barfight broken out...unless you’re looking to fight.”... and I am not. 🤓

I wish I HAD extra.. ANYTHING to place TOWARDS helping these people.. but I’m normally on the receiving end of charity as it is...

So I will send positive energy.. and attempt to raise awareness.

Alain, I’m not denying Global Warming. But, a year or two of drought for a 3000 year old tree is inconsequential.

No it isn't, but

If you want to talk about Global Warming, start another thread.

Good idea.

About "Telperion Farms", I suggested crowd funding. I participated in such a thing as I said before. For people I knew, or that I met, for other causes too. Acts, not prayers.

Once I've done that, I try to understand why it happened, and how I, sorry : we can do something so it doesn't happen again.

It’s already been done. Look back in the thread, or at the B-nut Home page.
Alain, the Giant Sequoias are 3000 years old. A five or 10 year drought is nothing to them.
It’s a stressor which makes them more susceptible to attack. I know sequoias are at a different scale, but there are conifers many hundreds of years old throughout the west that have been weakened by drought and have succumbed to bark beetles. As average temperatures rise, vegetation zones are marching northward and higher in altitude. And many western forests are not expected to recover after some of these massive fires:

I agree, these are extreme fires, fueled, in part, by our past suppression of fires. I agree that global warming is playing a part. But California is subject to fires and floods... In their past 3000 years, these trees have witnessed many catastrophic events.

But, again, we’re getting off topic.

Just saw a post somewhere about a telperion tree which make me think about them.
Anyone have any updates about Kirk et al. and how/what they are doing now? @Adair M
