The Tree Thread

I’ve put about 2.5 years into rehabbing this big, established yew. Here it is today, after some moderate pruning:

I’ve been working my way back to short, interior nodes. The tree had been owned by a man who died in 2017 and I think the last couple years of his life he wasn’t able to keep up with some of his trees.

Next up: full wiring this fall. I think it needs some shari, a smaller pot, and some fun styling to jazz it up a bit.

If I'm boring people on this thread (cos some may feel I'm spamming) let me know. Potentilla after cut back, soji and a little wire (awkward to apply).

I LOVE this tree, it's beautiful! I'm stalking all of your potentilla photos, I just got one. I also love that you're from Yorkshire - I am too!

Oops - sorry, thanks for letting me know! Bad photo (I'm at work, stopped at local nursery on the way... working hard obviously) but here's my new field maple. Lots of chops on this side of the tree, will take a better photo later!
