Here's the chinese elm (above the waterfall) along with a few on the stands behind the pond. I'm going to throw in a bonus pic of my fish as well. ;)

I’ve been at this for 5 years, and I finally have a tree for this thread.

crape myrtle started from 3 gallon nursery plant 5 years ago. Spent about 3 years in the ground and moved to an Anderson flat last spring.

I like this tree and your design so much I hate to make any kind of comment that may be taken wrong. But, a couple tweaks at the top, right, pulling two branches down ~30° could fill an incongruous open area from a incongruous congested (IMHO) top and make the whole tree have about the same spacing, throughout. It's a great tree with or without tweaks.

Had a little time to do a bit of tidying up on this Juniper today. 1st bit of bonsai work I've done in 6 weeks since my dad passed away. I'll do a bit more when I get chance.

Sorry for your loss. You know there are not many things more therapeutic than working on a bonsai?

Yes you're totally right. It's been a combination of emotional shock and taking care of my mum - I go round to keep her company & have chores like doing her lawn & garden, online shopping to keep her sheltered etc & putting her bins out. Add to this helping with the funeral arrangements and sorting out probate leaves little spare time for trees, now that I feel I can keep my mind focused. My dad bought me 2 trees from a garden centre years ago - just raw non bonsai stuff. My goal will be to turn these into good trees eventually. Random pic for legitimacy..... a powerful chunky Hawthorn in development.IMG_20200616_130748.jpg
