The Carmona is long gone buddy!

Its always a great time of year for elms as the tiny spring leaves extend
This is a European Field Elm, barking up nicely now20200316_161401.jpg

Brazilian Raintree....de-foliated old leaves. Usually have new growth by now, but some leaves with nearly a year behind them stuck persistently. These trees might just languish if you don't remove them.

Trunk is getting better and some cuttings will be taken to bring the canopy in and still need to strengthen that lowest branch.

Don't see many BRT's on this thread so here we go!!!!!!!!!!

Crabapple. First year in a decade where I haven't had to severely cut the trunk or branches back and thus cut off those precious flowering spurs. I bought it cheap because of the dreadful reverse taper which was the first thing to go. It's certainly been fun creating the top half of the trunk again in a sort of twisty leaning style and the branches. Now we'll see how ramified I can get it given it's a crabapple!

Yamadori - Collected Sierra Juniper, have been adapting to the Pacific Northwest climate and improving the overall health! It is gradually filling in and reducing foliage size with limited pruning and styling. I have focused on growth and rootball in the initial stages. IMG_0901.jpeg

I collected this Lodgepole Pine in June 2016 at 3000 feet in the Washington Cascades. It’s had some pruning work to keep its growth in check and this is now its first repotting. I’m just starting… it’s gonna be a while 😅

That strong branch that shoots upward will become the tree. I think the final height will be around 3 feet. (Right now it’s 5 feet in total)

Looks like it is happy, roots coming along nicely! Perhaps a candidate for bending the lower portion to create interest and shorten the overall height. I would spend a fair amount of time deciding how to redevelop the root base position for alternate planting angles to maximize the trees potential. Love the challenge this one poses! Looking forward to the progress reports.
