Good luck with that!! Is it still alive? My first bonsai 7 years ago, Carmona
Looks like it is happy, roots coming along nicely! Perhaps a candidate for bending the lower portion to create interest and shorten the overall height. I would spend a fair amount of time deciding how to redevelop the root base position for alternate planting angles to maximize the trees potential. Love the challenge this one poses! Looking forward to the progress reports.I collected this Lodgepole Pine in June 2016 at 3000 feet in the Washington Cascades. It’s had some pruning work to keep its growth in check and this is now its first repotting. I’m just starting… it’s gonna be a while

That strong branch that shoots upward will become the tree. I think the final height will be around 3 feet. (Right now it’s 5 feet in total)
