This morning

Chojubai quince... I killed these little gems fairly regularly in GA but so far so good up here.
Cotoneaster also do well in the Enchanted Mitten. :) All your trees look great! (I'm secretly stalking this thread to compare your trees to mine to see if I'm doing something wrong or right.) Don't tell anyone. ;)

It’s actually 6:40 pm and I’m sipping on a g and t, but the happy vibe fits!
Franks guessing JRP, and I'm guessing JWP maybe Zuishio?
Looking great Dave. I've been eyeballing that tree through the thread sitting in the background.
Your benches are very reminiscent of Adair set up.

Nice JBP trunk under development. Field grown? Deeper pot than usual is why I ask? Is that a red pine beside it?
The Japanese black pine was sourced from telperion farms three or four years ago. I have a progression thread on it here. The tall tree next to it is a Japanese white pine that I’ve been working on for the last four years. They both seem to like Michigan quite a lot :-).

The tall tree is a Japanese white pine, but I don’t believe it’s a cultivar … Most likely a seedling on its own roots. Good eye on the bench set up… Adair‘s garden was the inspiration for what I did here :).… Simple, but aesthetically pleasing, and easy to maintain.

Ya know, i wzs going to say on its own roots looking at the colour of the foliage, but the base looked air layered, so the cultivar Zuishio came to mind.
