Too late to repot? Scots pine

Planned on repotting this scots pine but didnt get to round to it yet.

Its been in a training pot for about 2 years and isnt percolating particularly well anymore.

Candles are extending already though, is it too risky to repot now?

It is a young tree that will really benefit from a repot at this stage. I would proceed but I would make it more of a focus to comb out and correct the root ball with a smaller amount of root cutting at the same time maybe up potting the tree to a bit larger container for development. Take the opportunity to improve nebari and improve drainage. Leave heavier root pruning for the next time that occurs earlier in the spring or early fall with time for recovery before heavy frost. If that occurs in your neck of the woods?

Repotted the day I posted. Boy that thing was filled with roots.

Pretty decent nebari forming. Have to decide where to go with it soon as well though. Still plenty of low growth to choose from.
