I always appreciate seeing inspiring trees in their natural surrounding, so I thought I'd post a few photos myself. These are some tree found at the higher elevations in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in CA. Specifically these trees are found at between 7500 and 9000 feet about sea level in Yosemite National Park. During the summer, I'm fortunate enough to work as a naturalist for the Park Service. Part of my job includes guiding people on a week long hike to different camps. Each trip I look forward to seeing these trees!

Barry,

Thanks for posting the photos, very inspiring. On a hike last spring I found a Beech with an amazing natural nebari. Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me. Perhaps I'll go back one of these days. Hope I can find it again.

Thank you for sharing. I could look at photos like this all day long. I might recommend that you set up an album in the photo galleries for these photos - if they are just listed in a thread there will come a time (soon I hope) when traffic will move the threads quickly off the main page and your photos will be buried (or archived).
