Following up on my older thread documenting my developing field grown (later box grown) trident maples... https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/tridents-in-development.64915/#post-1203295

Each tree now gets its own thread to keep things a bit more organized.

Today I moved Trident Maple #01 into a 16" ceramic training pot. Root work, directional pruning, lime sulfur spray. The tree is right about at the height where I want it. Next steps are to continue developing the primaries, scar healing and defining the look of the apex. Taper has really come along and I am happy so far. Kudos to Dylan for growing amazing stock and Shibui for the early advice. Tree farmers deserve a lot more credit for the service they provide IMHO.

The picture come up well all the way down here.

Congratulations on growing/choosing a decent trunk. So many field grown trees we see here are vertical stumps. This one has taper, scars smaller or hidden and better shape. All the best in developing branches over the next few years.
