I have to share my embarrassing moment.
I saw "Question mark," so I thought maybe I could convince my son to identify it for you, not realizing that is the actual name of the butterfly. When he looked it up, he came back to me with an irritated smirk on his face. "Funny, dad. Not."
I was actually pretty amused that I actually got one over on him, even if accidently.
The saga of the inside frog continues...
Found this baby in the half bath in the mud room.
At least it's close to the door outside...
Out in the garden he went.
At work, and welcome there, in the wilderness, but preferably not in the garden. Boopedon nobilum, ebony grasshopper. Males are black and smaller, more active than their verietally-patterned counterparts.
Great Crested Grasshopper, Tropidolophus formosus
Great camouflage; I didn't even notice it when I was shooting the Desert Globe Mallow in the foreground.
Glamour shot: Disclaimer: no insects were harmed in the production of this photo.
These nocturnal geckos love to hang on the civered back porch ceiling near the motion light to harvest the insects that are attracted to it. This one probably hatched this week.
