What inspired me to root a branch...need advice please

So you are talking about the evergreen variety not the deciduous.

So you are talking about the evergreen variety not the deciduous.

I have no idea what kind it is...never thought to ask that question. Here are a few photos of the two I have. They both came at approximately the same size...the largest was at the end of its peak blooming...and has been pruned back because I was told to by another to do so.(Whose branch clipping I originally took to the nursery to have identified.)

The Charlie Brown tree...this was the first year I pruned it...because I didn't realize pruning was beneficial to shrubs. It's small stature had me leaving it be. But...it surprisingly bloomed this year. When we talked of pulling it from the yard. (That is the third shrub that we threatened to pull and toss...each time they come back or bloom its crazy!)

*the photo with the railing...was taken after a hard rain. I pruned it back harder this year...to prevent from going into the stair way with a hard rain.

The reason I asked is the two differ a lot, the Deciduous is the invasive of the two and can have water needs that exceed your willingness to water and that affects all that surround it in good and bad ways. You mentioned you ordered two more plants. Tamarix aphylla is the Evergreen that is not considered invasive and honest I am pretty certain that what is pictured. Tamarix gallica, Tamarix chinensis, Tamarix ramosissima, and Tamarix parvifolia are Deciduous, invasive and generally a smaller scrubby bush.

Definitely doesn't handle lots of rain...thus why it was turning a rust color...does better when it is more of a drought.

I meant when I ordered them in, I originally ordered in the two...no I've not ordered in any more...almost hate I have two...one thrives and the other has had hardships along the way to make it the Charlie Brown shrub you seen pictured.

Honest I would tourniquet the Charlie Brown and give it a heavier base... I think that it might be a long term project but I see more pro's then con's there. I cannot see the base of the larger specimen but my first impression is it needs more sun. I am not an expert just a casual observation.

I tried to get photos of each...but...it is about to rain and the moisture is fogging camera up. I'll try maybe tomorrow.

The larger one...still maybe effected by Juglone of the walnut...we have them everywhere in the Ravine...and up less than 50 foot from where it is planted. But...it isn't dying...and blooms. Not an ideal spot...but no where else to put it.

Tourniquet the Charlie Brown...cut it back to the stump you mean?

PM me and I will explain what I really mean - I see a phone conversation is needed as I simply cannot type it all out in the process of buying another house. Tell the Hubby I am VERY happily married to what I consider the perfect Lady and this is about plants and plants alone ;)

MY pc and other devices are "on" 24 hours a day all year as well as my Wife's arsenal of electronics. Many times I am walking by my pc and see a refresh and new message but right now the whole downsizing and moving makes it impossible for me to type a LOT. Some of the things you are trying to accomplish are rather aggressive and I think it would just be easier for us to chat it on a landline then type it all out.
