It may be climate related but we will never know unless you tell us where you are and a bit more about the plant and how it is being cared for.
It could be half a dozen different things.
I hate to think so but it does look like anthracnose. Because of your location I would check with a garden center in your neck of the woods to see what they use. I don't know the legalities or effectiveness of what is used there. Don't underestimate the disease, it can be very serious and will spread.
