After reading Bonsai Nuts reply to my original post (What to do with boring collected olive stump) recommending Tom Vuongs upside down method for olive stumps, I decided to give it a try, seems like a much more worthy option.
It would be nice to have a YouTube video showing this process but it does seem pretty straight forward. I just cut back the branches to a reasonable length, roughed up the outer area to expose some of the cambium layer and set it into the same soil that it had been growing in. I didn't want to bury it to deep, trying to preserve some of the chunky gnarly bark. After just a couple hours after planting one of the many suckers had popped up facing the sun. All of the cuttings from the stump were stuck in a pot to make an olive group planting. Fingers crossed that roots will grow. Thanks Again Bonsai Nut.
