What's the cure for boredom in bonsai?

Bjorn literally has footage of him working out in his bonsai studio lol and he has reach but idk how tall Neil is … I’d say he’s got a good ground game with fake downs.
Yeah! Reach definitely... I did not know about that “exercise footage”... still.. a decent striker can “work around” someone with reach. 🤪

So i guess it, like most NON-hypothetical fights, comes down to who knows HOW to fight.
🤣

Wait... is this the Sakadama thread?

Exhales smoke..

Whoops.

🤣

@Njyamadori? He's still about now and again. Last thread I talked to him in was a couple weeks ago. Pops in with questions, but not enough updates. Took up fishing too, or something like that.
I don't think they meant him. I only joined the forums earlier this summer and I've seen some seemingly young people pop in here, ask a question, then disappear and never even respond to the feedback in the thread they started. Njyamadori definitely seems to be genuinely excited about the hobby.

Be nice. See above.
I am being nice. Hence the reason I said "With few exceptions", meaning there are some earnest, focused youngsters out there, which is refreshing to see. I wasn't making a broad attack on the youth in general.

I remember asking my self a similar question.... my answer was first to get more tropicals, and try to make conditions where they will actually grow over the winter.

But there's one thing that flipped the whole thing upside down for me....
I went from feeling like I wanted to have more bonsai work to do, to not having nearly enough time to do the bonsai work that I needed to do.
.....its kids.
Have some kids....then fill your free time(or lack thereof) with bonsai.

Used to enjoy some patron @AcerAddict
How is the skull brand from classic rocker?
Not sure what you mean by the skull brand.

Patrón is typically what I drink. For the last few months, I've been totally into their Estate Release Limited Edition. It's produced using the agave plants that grow right out front of the distillery. Unfortunately, they only make it every 8 years because they have to let the agave grow again, so when the 2,600 or so bottles they made back in 2018 are gone, I'll have to wait until 2026 to buy it again. It's $80 a bottle here in NC. Ridiculously smooth with zero alcohol burn at all, despite being 84 proof. It's triple distilled and not barrel aged either. I'm not a fan of barrel aging when it comes to tequila. Don't really like the flavor added by the oak. I just want a clean agave flavor. DonQ blanco is another good one around the $50 mark.

I'm 41, so it's a little late for that. Besides, my wife and I mutually agreed shortly after meeting back in 2005 that neither one of us wanted kids. We have two rescue dogs and that's enough. We enjoy things being laid back and quiet when we want them to be. :)

We’ll when you are bored why not take the wife and/or kids out for dinner😂.
Oh, she gets taken out to dinner quite a bit. Gets nice gifts every now and then too. How else do you think I get the green light to buy so many trees? 😆

I think you have a variety of trees in a variety of refinement or development. Really you can work on a tree in one point in development/refinement year round. Or grafting, air layering and striking cuttings

I'm going to be setting up several air layers after next spring's growth hardens off. Probably 2 or 3 standard Acer palmatum, 3 or 4 Shishigashira, a Trident maple, and a crape myrtle. I'm still waiting for my favorite local mom-and-pop nursery to put their Japanese maples on sale, which they usually do in the late fall/early winter each year. They have one or two cultivars that I want to buy so I can start making air layers off those too.

Sex, other fitness, other hobbies. Personally rarely have enough time for trees. Hiking largely interferes:eek:.
This is just weird coming from you (sarcasm if you hadn’t guessed). Rarely have enough time?. I guess some people are extra private, but for me to only see one tree of yours in the 4 odd years I have been here, and I am on here most days 😱.
