Which type are Yew?

I got this Yew end of Xmas this year (all it said on the pot was "Taxus") figuring I'd clean it up a bit and learn to care for a Yew and just let it grow. When it first started turning yellow I thought I was giving it too much water. Now I'm not sure. Is it more likely this is a sunburst yew and thus NOT a good fit for Bonsai (Or so I've heard) or is my first guess on it being a different problem correct? I tested the pH and that seems fine...

This tree is in year one of a three year start; just thickening the trunk and letting it mature some...
