This Christmas my sister gave me a small juniper mallsai that was possibly dead when I received it. My mother gifted my the three trees below after realizing the small mallsai would probably not make it through the winter. Which it didn't. Turned brown and crispy.

Rhododendron nursery stock taken from the burn pile. I chopped everything that was clearly dead back then waited for spring. Not all the branches came back but I am happy it survived.

Boxwood that was very root bound. No pics from the original pot, but it was a 3gal. It was originally taller than the first pic as well. It was pretty thin after the first trim, but it is recovering well with lots of new growth.

Blue rug juniper. You can see it before I did any work in the rhododendron pic. Not really sure which direction to go with this. It is really dense with foliage and needs to be thinned.

No idea what this is this is. Collected it from here in Oklahoma. I liked the woody stem and tight leaf bunch. Reminded me of african quiver trees. I have a smaller one as well. It had these brittle stalks that were bare when I collected it, but I didn't know what they were. Just watching this one grow. I found another one on a hike and based on the dead stems the stalks should flower at some point.
