Supposedly a dwarf cultivar of the Chinese Elm, this Japanese Nire elm with it's two root cuttings as semi cascades, always lose their leaves in the fall whereas my one Chinese Elm hardly ever does. These guys give a nice appreciation for the bare bonsai look and especially when they begin to pop saying that spring is not far off.

Yea, my Chinese elms are starting to push out little green buds too, but they are in my greenhouse where just about everything has either green buds or at least swelling ones.
