I need to order some wire for securing my trees to the pot and for attaching the drainage mash to the bottom of the pots. What's a good size for that?
Like Sorce said, I have been using twine without any problem whatsoever. I explained its rational in other post.I need to order some wire for securing my trees to the pot and for attaching the drainage mash to the bottom of the pots. What's a good size for that?
Use pink man thongs! If not twine.
I order most of mine from http://www.dallasbonsai.com/I don't mean to hijack your thread, but where is a good place to order wire?
good place to order wire
OK, I have tons of copper wire, I thought aluminum was the way to go for anchoring trees.Well... it depends! On the size of the holes in the pot, and the size of the tree.
You're going to need all sizes of wire anyway, so just get some of each size! No kidding.
For doing wire screens and hold down wires, I always use aluminum. Some plants don't like copper.
@Paradox, it's all in the technique! When using aluminum, and you're tightening tie downs, don't pull and twist at the same time. Doing so can break the wire! Instead, pull tight, then release the pull as you twist. Almost push the pliers back towards the root ball. Twisting takes up slack. So, pull, relax, twist. Pull, relax, twist.
Aluminum is what I use for wiring trees into the pot.OK, I have tons of copper wire, I thought aluminum was the way to go for anchoring trees.
