Got this for Christmas 2024! :)

I will leave it in the pot it came in this year and will repot into much better soil next spring.

It looks like it was plopped into that pot in very organic soil and then had some bonsai soil sprinkled around it and on top of it. Most of that has already washed away during watering and rain.

Today I noticed it has a single flower/fruit!

I wonder what variety it is. I have a dwarf, called an emperor pom. The fruit is dark purple

It has grown nicely so far, and the other day, I noticed it popped out a bunch of flower buds (?).

It looks great. I have a small nana as well, which usually flowers from May to September, (vigorously at the beginning, slows in time). But it grows very slowly. I planted it into ground last month to make it tall and thick faster. Still no visible change at the moment though, but probably effects will be seen in time, maybe next year. I was removing only the fruits until now, so that the plant does not spend energy on them. But now I am thinking to remove the flowers as well, as soon as they bud. Maybe that way it will grow faster.

So you got it at christmas with leaves on with pomegranates on it?
I enjoy my tree greatly. In my observation they sort of bloom twice. Again about + month later. Interestly pomegranates have male flowers allong with the usual ones with both parts. That will fall off with the unfertlized usual flowers?

The flowers/fruits are weighing the branches down.

That sort of helps in my opinion. Bends the branches down naturally instead of wiring.? I bring mine inside for winter. It holds onto its pomegranates till spring. Usually quite a crop. Makes for quite a pleasing plant. Done this for years. But it seems I've stressed it out. Give it a break now that I have one of its juniors to play with? I doubt I have the light intensity to keep it happy doing this? But we're talking well over 10 years
