From stick to decent crown. This is my yamadori Black locust development. OK, it is not pure yamadori. The truth is I grew it from seed. But when I went to college (many years ago) I let it grew freely at my grandpa garden. So it lost all its structure and I chopped it down to bare stick. Now it starting to look a bit better :)

I like it! I was thinking of collect one this spring. I spotted one that has a trunk just as thick if not thicker but it must be very young since it still has smooth bark.

Mine is about 20yrs old (from seed). Many years in pot, then garden, then chopped and back to pot as “yamadori” :). So the bark on mine looks pretty good now.

Pretty cool. These grow like weeds next to me. Maybe I'll collect one - you have inspired me. The thorns on these are nasty though.

Nice! Have you seen blooms on this guy yet?
Sadly no. But it is problem with most of my trees that can possibly flower. Maybe I need to switch to some different fertilizer to what I am using now 🤷🏻‍♂️

Before work now I always cut them down for safety (after I met them in person few times 😅)
