I would let it grow wild for a bit. GEtting half to a full foot extentions on these branches in a season will tell you it is fully healthy, which is also when pruning back will get you loads of budding everywhere.

Would you hold back or prune the strongest growing, dominant branches at all during the season?

Finally, I think this tree is healthy.
After many years of diebacks, I think there may still be an interesting tree in there.

I’ve been thinking about how i’d like to carve this crazy bunch of fused chopped trunks!



Any tips/ideas?
