I think I speak for everyone in saying thank you for this site. It has been a gift to many over the years.

It has been a labor of love. I created the site originally because my personal life was so busy it was difficult for me to join a bonsai society or travel to many shows. Also, I got frustrated with many bonsai sites that would come and go over the years... losing tons of valuable content. I wanted to create a site that would become an archive.... and that would have the financial backing to not disappear on a whim. So yes, I could have personally covered the $600 upcharge due to the recent upgrades. I would have done it happily because I love you all
But the fact that people are pitching in is like someone buying you a free beer. You don't need it, you don't expect it... but it sure is nice when it happens.FWIW the site was doing really well in 2020 during the pandemic. I guess y'all were staying home working on your trees. But since then, ad rates have dropped 50%. So you take the good with the bad. I try to run the minimal ads to cover site costs. Some years I come out ahead, some years not. But that is MUCH better than the first ten years of the site...
And like I said, I can afford it if necessary. So the site will never go anywhere while I am around.
