I watched Trump's interview on 60 Minutes last night and the single thing that stuck out in my mind (which NONE of the media outlets are covering today, by the way) is that he is going to call for term limits on all member of Congress.

THAT would be a HUGE step in the right direction.

He's not a politician...and, I wouldn't call him a die hard republican either. He's a man for the people...he's seen business deals made by the government that were poorly done...hello...we the people suffered from those poorly done deals. It will be interesting to see things come together. He mentioned before...finding the right people for committees to get the job done...not ones who scratched the back of politicians that have no clue what they are doing placed into areas that need someone with the smarts to better America. I think when the dusts settles...that will hopefully be seen. But, term limits were discussed previously...and I was for it.

I am not willing to breathe toxic air and drink poison in the name of profit.

The economy is stagnant because the banks were deregulated, not the environment. Then the banks made very bad business decisions that caused the global economy to crash.
We havent seen a tax increase in over a decade, in fact, if anything taxes have gone down and are at almost the lowest rate in the history of this country.

The economy is stagnant because businesses are pocketing all the profit instead of creating new jobs or replacing the ones they lost followed by the fact that there are many people either still out of work or are in lower paying jobs and cant afford to spend money on things other than the basic necessities. Even most of the people who do have some extra money to spend arent spending it because they are not yet confident enough to do so after the bank debacle.

The statements you made just aren't true and I don't have the time to educate you on economics.

I too watched the 60 min interview.

My response at this point is to wait and see who he puts in his cabinet and what they try to do.

The two people he picked so far, I have no opinion on but the potential person named for Secretary of Commerce (forger her name atm) wasnt encouraging considering what I know to be some of the bigger issues for that office.

You don't need to educate me on anything.
I happen to be very close to the issue because I deal with it every day.

I have also been paying attention over the years and your opinion on the issue is just plain incorrect.

Some impact, yes but not what has killed buisness and industry in this country.
Not even close.

Term limits are a bad idea IMO. They address the symptom, not the cause. We have them in Michigan for the state legislature, and it results in a bunch of newbies who don't know what they're doing. so a lot of people will serve two or three terms in the state house, then two terms in the state senate, then try to run for a different, usually bigger office.

term limits just result in higher turnover, which generally isn't really a good thing.

Here's my comment with what you posted in your link. It is the opinion of one guy - and famous ultra-liberal who isn't afraid to say he is an ultra-liberal. He starts out his article by calling the Republican Party "the most dangerous organization in world history". I read the whole thing, but it is just more of the same. The interviewer makes statements like "the man that Michael Moore described as a "'wretched, ignorant, dangerous part-time clown and full-time sociopath' will be the next president of the United States." This is supposed to be fair, unbiased reporting? I believe it is representative of the same bombast and hyperbole that Trump is guilty of. And why the heck does anyone think that Michael Moore's opinion matters to anyone? You want to talk about a bigger clown than Trump?

He goes on to say that Obama's administration is far right (politically) of Democrat administrations of the past. I just don't agree.

But the beauty of the United States... the opinion of Noam Chomsky matters no more or less than Sorce's opinion. One voice, one vote. I find it somewhat hypocritical how he comments about people of authority trying to mind-control the masses when... isn't he a person of authority trying to mind-control the masses? But I guess it only matters if people don't agree with his opinion.

I DO agree with his position on global warming however, which I believe is a real, present danger.

I've watched every Michael Moore movie.
He's actually a celebrity around these parts.

I liked his first movie. Not because I thought it was a fair, accurate portrayal - a true documentary - but because I considered it an impactful political commentary. He has a point of view, and creates movies that drive that point of view home... which is very different than what an unbiased documentary is supposed to be. By the way - I think Moore would have an aneurysm if someone suggested to him that his message in "Roger & Me" is exactly the position that Trump used to get Michigan to support him for President.

However I am not a fan of Hollywood directors suddenly feeling like they have some moral authority to tell people how they should think or what they should believe. It is editorial - nothing more. This election felt to me like a lot of people with access to mass media were screaming more and more vocally about what people NEEDED TO BELIEVE. As the election got closer the voices got more strident. And now that the election is over... there is an outrage there that I have never felt before. "How DARE people have different opinions than what we told them they needed to have! They must be ______!" (insert derogatory label of your choice).

Thanks for looking. My thought about all this, and the other thread you started, is that very few people are able to read an article, understand what is being said, and then consider it. Being outside of the US does give me a different perspective. You may need to work harder to see it. There is a reason why the whole world has gone "holy f...k" when trump got in with republican senate and congress. The republican ARE the most dangerous group in the world.

See, immediately in your post you have labled chomsky. This taints/ biased your reading. No longer objective but subjective. This is the problem with humanity. People deceive themselves into believing they are objective when really they are not. True objectivity takes time and effort. Have you really thought about why the republicans are the most dangerous group in the world. Could it be that they do not represent the people. But only the 1% of the world. Those that own and run multinational corps. Those that profit from the destruction of the environment, that put profit over humanity. Research both sides of the story and really think about it objectively. Look outside of the US and see how the US is sucking the world dry for its own benefit. The china/US thing its about who has the power to suckup the most stuff from the world.

Apparently the kids of some Trump supporters aren't raised very well
Increases in bullying, chants of build a wall in cafeterias. grabbing girls by the crotch saying it's my right ,swastikas painted on school properties.
I keep thinking about the ad Hillary ran showing Trump being a bigot, degrading women and mocking the handicapped.
At they end it shows kids and it says their watching.
Apparently some little bastards were.

And now he wants his kids to have top security clearances. WTF!

He actually is quite accurate. Dare I say, on the money . I will shout it out for you.. FRACTIONAL BANKING SYSTEM.

Educate yourself, please.
