This is the gogi berry I picked up last fall... thanks @JudyB! It's been in the backyard for the last few months trying to decide if it likes the weather here. Unfortunately, the earliest picture I have of it is this one of it sitting in the ice last week, 15 f, barely holding on to a few leaves that were bright green and turgid January first.

So, today was the 5th day in a row over 70...and this one is growing again:confused:. I decided it needed a cut back asap.

Hopefully, some of these cuttings will strike.

Better pics in the future...I promise:)

They oughta strike man... I found them to be insanely easy to root!

This will be shaggy again before you know it, it's like the weed. It likes to put out buds low on the trunk and base, make sure you catch those early. It loves the cold, and cutting back hard in winter is the way to make it flower. It needs lots of root room, you may want to repot it as well, as the roots are extremely vigorous, and growth will stall if it runs out of room. But you can repot these during the growing season if needed, they are tough.

I may show this one in march, so it'll get some heavy root work some time next month....gonna wait until most of the cold weather is behind us.

Reported today, and back into the nice green hattori pot @JudyB had found for it. As it may be shown several times this spring, it's got a layer of chopped sphag moss on the soil now that will get some green moss in a few weeks.

Minus points for the Tidy Cat Bucket....

But....

You can fit a twelve pack in those so you get all the points back!

Is there no way too see more movement in the trunk?

Or is this just one you gotta see in person?
