maybe off topic, but English is not my native language: Why is the mugo pine in previous post a little tree in a little pot and not a small tree in a small pot?
At least in our language we have rules to prevent confusing situations like this!Small = little
Little = small
Could be a little tree in a small pot.
Or a small tree in a little pot.
At least in our language we have rules to prevent confusing situations like this!
There's only one activity that has over one hundred synonyms in our language. And it has nothing to do with growing bonsai......Your language has no synonyms? That must be pretty boring.
I wrote that pretty quickly this morning and was not really paying attention. Normally, I would have substituted words like small, short, diminutive, petite, wee, mini, teeny, tiny, weeny, dinky or shrimpy just to give the sentence some more interest. But it's too late now...![]()
Fathers day tomorrow.
In the next few weeks it will be time to cut shoots back,do root work.
Are you people ready?
Happy Fathers Day even if you only have a pet raccoon. Hope the 60+ sink holes up there in Mi avoided your area and Mikes too.I would love to see a photo of this guy once the needles start to open. I think you will be amazed at ho good this tree is going to look.
Beautiful. I tend to like off the wall type pots for Mugos.Also worked on this little one. I ordered a big pot from Paul Olson last winter and he sent me this little pot for free. Seemed like a good home for this little mugo.

Those happened in a place called Ironwood. It's in the Upper Penninsula.Hope the 60+ sink holes up there in Mi avoided your area and Mikes too
Did you bare root this one in 2016, or does it just look that way in the photo? Original root ball in the pond basket back filled with bonsai soil?2 year progression. Not great, but it's getting a little better.
