The Houseplant Thread - what do you have?

I've had the Joshua Tree for about twenty years, so you're looking at successors of successors. They do not trunk up so you have to keep them under 3" tall and keep the canopy, meaning the number of foliage balls to a minimum to keep them vertical. They are really procumbent by nature so you have to start with short pieces, bury them deep for support, and not let them get to many balls on top or branches too long. I put rock between them for the first six months, or so, like this Ivy treated to the same...

...and these Portulacaria...

They do go on for years and I have lots of them in many kinds of tiny pots. They never die, and root easily. They just get to the point of needing dividing and reassembly.
very cool! that ivy is neat looking as well.

heres a golden pothos i rooted in rainwater, then potted in a custom custard dish for my coworker who just bought his first home...
aweful picture of it lol

lucky you, although i have come to enjoy the four seasons here. i even surf in winters here but am jealous of lack of continental shelf and constant deep water ground swell you have.

im not trying to get into cactus much for a few reasons, but another i have my eye on in the future is this: frizzle sizzle plant. i guess its not a cactus per se, south african succulent

Mine tend to lose their fizzle after a year or so.

Here are some Sedum multiceps Ive grown this year - they have been outdoors all summer but I just brought them inside before they got frosted- I dont think they like English winters

Nice collection, I noticed your Goodyera on the first page.

For your Hoya collection, I highly recommend Hoya callistophylla, the Sabah beauty hoya, to use Ted Green's name for it. Exquisite leaves.

Actually any hoya in the same group as callistophylla are great. I had one for a while, an unidentified species from Kalimantan, Borneo, Indonesia. Leaves weight a eighth of a pound each, thick and heavy, with very bold blue green veins over a yellow green background. And lovely honey-straw daytime scented flowers. No longer have it, but I will eventually get a piece back from someone I shared it with.

Very cool and i looked up the callistophylla. Rad one for sure

The downy rattlesnake is still outside per your advice I think. I'll look to keep it there unless severe weather. Ppl cultivate them in tank setups a lot and it likes water. 5 I have. Didnt find more when i went back. Elusive...cool its an orchid too imo

Tropical pitcher plants (Nepenthes sp). outdoors when temps are above 45 F but otherwise inside.
Hey now. Best ive ever seen of those. Fun read for some are that NC might have only native often poached for $ flytraps. I enjoyed reading about them when i was supposed to be working once

My first rex begonia. Looks like a nuclear weapon hit it. The colors man!

Very cool. Cant say i Remember seeing the yellow splash like that but I havent got into them yet, I do like them. The spines and colors of stems are nice as well

They are a challenge inside. Abuse needs to happen, hahahaha! Cant water until the soil is almost completely dry..at least in my house.

I do that too w the fan on most go a full week before water. I mist daily for 60% of my plants

Heres some pre waterday shots. Calladiums that i had to nearly deadhead to bring them back after a repot and theyre tricky. They like water. Trop hibiscus about to bloom inside. I want to split and bonsai it but it wont stop blooming all summer every few days even with removing them lol. These buds are from inside growing...few pics from flower outside. The two flower pics are actually like a 6 hour time diff w no edit in fact

Very nice ive seen the pink version and it was great. Waxy leaves if I remember too, outside potted
I have the pink kind outside in baskets, but they are too big to bring in. :( I think I'm pushing my luck with my husband the way it is!
