Masterpiece
This JBP was transplanted this morning. I need to change it to bigger pot.
soil is pumice: akadama: mini pine bark: ground fir with ratio 2:1:1:1. This mixture was mixed with active charcoal , ratio 10:1. Humic acid granules was scattered into above mixture .
It took me about 30 minutes to get the tree out of old pot !
There are a thick root pad at the bottom !
I removed distal third and outer third of roots. Then I used chopstick to remove old soil around the remaining part.
I placed a thin layer of large pumice into the bottom of the pot. Then poured the soil in.
After the tree was placed into the pot, soil was put in; then the tree was kept in place with twine! After that, soil was watered with Haws can.
The lower trunk bark was cracked: sign of trunk diameter is expanding!
The tree was placed into the “recovery” area: no direct sunlight; humidity provided by automatic misting system. It will need 6 weeks to get out of this area.
