Very good news buddy. Congratulations on that. Nothing beats having your own family home, and to do with whatever you want. Its that same feeling the first settlers had, after they settled down from being hunter gatherers....
Most important tip I can give is decide before hand which side of the raised bed is for ground planting bonsai, and which side is for vegetables. Believe me they sneak up on you once they taste their own home grown veges

Come on down to CR, lots are cheap and rules are loose. No hoa here! It doesnt snow either! Never gets below 60°or so. Growing season is... Always! I doubt your loan counts here, but you have help if you come check it out.. La Sourceres es Cubana, verdad? Y'all would fit right in..and you like fishin', perfect. The marlin are biting offshore! Snook at the beach (awesome fried)!
Are you goung to stay near where you are? Or go someplace warmer?

An inspection is a must-do item. It is well worth the cost. The inspector, a certified and qualified inspector, will review everything from the top of the roof all the way to the base floor. The inspector presents you with a long list of the condition of everything. You determine if the home and the repair total are what you're interested in buying. Walk away if you're just not sure. It's better to walk than buy a mountain of repairs.

Rent this movie and watch it: The Money Pit. Tom Hanks is one of the staring actors. Great home buying movie.

And of course we are going to want you to include a "guest room", "outdoor entertainment area', "game room with big screen" and an "indoor hobby or planting area would be nice". I have had four homes and numerous rental properties, all of the above advice is good but there is something that trumps all of the advice. You will know the place when you see it. Something inside of you will just go "ahhhh, you know this just feels right" then do your investigative work to back up your feeling. Don't make a job out of it and enjoy the whole experience. Good luck and if you have a question, like I said we are all here to give you advice, then just like with everyone's trees, take the advice or leave it.

Yeah thats when you know. My wife does real estate and often sees it. Someone comes through a open home and without going through the whole place, they just know this is the one for them... the Boom Boom she calls it

She wasn't prepared to live in the woods all summer while we wait to close.....

But.....

We're renting a house with some giant space.

Gotta bouta 10x20 ft garden bed in the back, with a good chunk of sun.
And a spot next to the garage that also gets good sun, with a trellis up already to put a shade cloth if necessary...

Front has a large plot too.

And I got the go ahead to do Whatever...

It's fully on.

I'm not posting before pics till the afters come.

Plenty of Space for Lance's tent .....

And you are all still welcome to swing by...
