MM. Good tree. Best advice I could give is to thin the shoots rather than shorten them. Just keep the shoots that will be part of the design. It will look shaggy at first. Let the shoots extend and grow - wire then into position. Give them at least two full growing seasons before you cut back. When you do, cut back hard. When you get a flush of new growth, thin and select again. Then repeat. Letting the shoots extend for two seasons made all the difference for me.

I wish that it would get fruit, but none so far, it has bloomed once but I keep it pruned heavily so not much of that either. I may be a a male plant.

Nery nice. I pulled one out of the ground this year. If it turns out half as nice as yours I will be happy.
