Anti-desiccant...Does anyone use this product on conifers to protect them from loosing water through their needles when it's cold/windy in the winter time? Thought I would try it this winter. Input appreciated.

Another question, is there a bonsai club is Missoula, Montana?

Can I assume that nobody knows nothing about what I mentioned here? Come on you guys. I'll send you a lolly pop if you answer both.

Are you talking about the stuff they spray on Christmas trees to keep the needles fresher when bringing inside? I don't know how or if that would work on a live tree....

I have never used, or heard of anybody using, anti-desiccant on conifers in the winter. I don’t see any need, Mother Nature takes care of the issue just fine in my experience. It doesn’t get much colder/windier/drier than here in the winter. Just have to keep the roots properly protected and watered. For native conifers, I don’t do anything other than shovel some extra snow over the roots when it snows and water during dry spells.

I think adding a product to the foliage would probably do more harm than good.

I don’t know anything about Missoula, sorry 😁

Wilt Pruf is not going to help much and it can burn some species as it’s made from diluted lines resin. Snow is a better protector if you can get enough or leave it on trees.
