Actually Taxus are toxic but when was the last time you ate the bushes you cliped. It is not likely for you to be infected by the kind of exposure to this tree however there was a Roman legion that made water jugs & canteens out of Taxus and this entire legion was poisoned and died.

I'll post more pics when it's second flush gets underway.
It's weird, this one is slower than my others, to begin it's second flush for the season. But it looks like its gonna be a strong push if all these buds open....we'll find out!

Yew snapped!

I can't keep one alive and if I look at them in the depot I can't do it without thinking of you and this tree!

One day!

And I'm coming to yew for pointers!

I am watching this one with great anticipation.

Well, I was kinda board today...on a rare day off work.
So I went ahead and did some wiring on this one...I removed all the previous wire near the end of Sept, after a whole year!
It was cutting in pretty bad in some spots...

Anyway, I left the top alone for now, had to guy wire a few primaries back into place, and I tweaked a few secondaries...

Before:

After:....still having trouble picking a front...it's OK for now.

Here is one big reason why I love Taxus for bonsai:
"Internodes....? What are those?"

I need to get a Bark Stripper for those low roots that were cut last year...need to work the deadwood on all the jins...clean it up, lime sulfur em down...
I'll do that over winter, hopefully.
