I cleaned up some of the brush in my front yard this morning. I don't think the last tenants raked the leaves the entire time they lived here.
Anyway, it was the first time I used the water spigot on the side of the house since moving in last fall, and look what I spotted next to it.

A Rocky Mountain juniper seedling from the big trees on the other side of the house.
I cut the bottom off a broken bucket a set it around the tree to protect it from errant foot traffic, threw down a pinch of fert, and gave it a long drink of water.

What's stepping up at your house?

Nice finds!
I found some that I need ID on, while collecting moss. No idea what the first plant is with the red leaves. I think the second one is a privet tree, not a great picture but there was dozens of them. Any idea?

Tiny eastern red cedars in my lawn (I potted 2 a year ago), Siberian elms, redbuds and white mulberry in my fence line, and the occasional silver maple in the veggie garden.
