I would consider cutting it back hard and doing a major trunk chop. Identify a new leader low down, maybe a few nodes from the root flare, and start developing taper and movement.

It’s really easy to propagate Portulacaria afra via cuttings, so you can probably chop this up into multiple plants.

The foliage is quite sparse and leggy, so it probably wants considerably more light. Consider putting it under a grow light and/or moving it outside when it’s warm enough.

I think you have about 50 bonsais in there Now they can handle quite a bit of sun but where you are full summer sun is not the thing. Morning sun in the hottest part of summer. I move mine about 38C into afternoon shade. They take more water when it's hot then you would expect (depending on how fast you want them to grow they will live but slow way down when kept more dry) but the soil must drain or they rot. They are also surprisingly heavy feeders. You can leave them out to at least -1C and mine stay out colder than that. (They are landscape in Phoenix AZ)

Look up littlejadebonsai on YouTube for some inspiration. There are some nice ones out there!
