I Have been wanting to buy another black pine. Would it be safe to buy a black pine from zone 6a and ship it down to 9a.

There are some vendors in Fl. who sell JBP online, how far south are you? Japan Nursery in Sanford Fl. has some nice ones and some young material for sale reasonable, and Penjing Bonsai Garden on rt. 1 south in Malabar Fl. has some nice young trees as well as some really nice worked trees, pretty expensive though, the pre-bonsai ones that were pretty impressive started at around $150.00 all the way up to $550.00.

I keep JBP in Southern California and they do great. They were one of the few trees that moved from Chicago to California without missing a beat. One year I was over-wintering them in an unheated garage in -20 weather, and the next year the coldest it got was maybe 40 degrees. They acclimated perfectly.
