Bonsai-A-Thon XXI, February 25 & 26, 2017

Colin I never got that pic of you, but I bet it would have been a awkward one! I picked up a nice shohin kishu and a pot for it that i can hopefully squeeze it in to this year. Life caught up to me when i got home so i didnt get a pic, maybe tomorrow. I walked around the grounds at the Huntington after I left took some nice photos. It was serene to be around "nature " in the middle of the city and not hear one sound of a city, very calming. Perfect time to enjoy the gardens with a lot of trees flowering. My wife and I are going to ditch the kids and head over there for the day in a week or two.20170226_140658.jpgI can still hear the sound of the running water.

That looks alot like my "Kurume Type" that I picked up at Nuccio's in Altadena. Unfortunately, it was the first root rot victim of the S. Cali Monsoon Season 2017.
Here's the catalog description:

MISC HYBRID
AMOENA COCCINEA —(Kurume type) Small hose-in-hose, vivid magenta. Vigorous, upright growth.
