Can We Talk About Mine?

You'll be glad you have that cheap imperfect pine. I'm glad that the one I have is not great, as I've spent the past 2 years learning what I'm doing on pines, and what their growth patterns are. And I've barely scratched the surface of what I need to know. But now I can go out and get something that I won't kill or maim that has a future. ;)
 
I agree with you on that Judy. He could learn much from that pine: Proper wiring, bending, decandling, root pruning, forcing back budding, learning how wounds heal... Just sticking in the ground won't teach him much.
