I chopped this Hornbeam back in Aug 2022

you dont often see this on hornbeams, usually only elms and zelkova, but post chop it began producing buds around the chop site..

Heres a little raft put together yesterday, had a little visitor come to watch me on the first floor balcony.
I made some cuts on the underside and swabbed with hormone, lets see what happens..

If you're in the UK and you havn't added a few Hornbeams to your collection, you're missing out
this one by Will Baddely is just 6 years from the chop. Easily one of the best species for deciduous bonsai going and as ive said many times, material like this can be found in many garden centres/tree nurseries across the UK, or even in hedges

One of my old Carps, so rugged and aggressive...
When people talk about created deadwood doesn't look right...
This is wonderfully convincing IMHO and this was only after one season of it being weathered in...
The shadows and depth are on point.
