This is my entry into the mame contest. Another pokomoke that is developing pretty fast. I got pretty lucky with branches in all the right places after the trunk chop.
This one is a discount nursery purchase that's getting ready to bloom. I think the branches on it need to be really cut back. I'll probably wait until late winter to do that though.
Lastly is another discount nursery buy from the same day as the one above. I chopped this one late winter and started it over. I think it's coming along ok.
This one got cut back hard in early summer and has now grown back. I think it actually looks better a little wider and more open so I'm going to work towards that.
Time to update the crapes myrtles this year. I've done a pretty good purging and downsized my number. I'm left with 6 now. The others have been sold or planted in the ground or given away.
My pokomoke group is going through some changes. It had a crossing branch in the canopy that I had been reluctant to remove because it would create a big hole. This year, I pulled the trigger and cut it off.
Plan is to grow the right hand trunk of the left tree taller and fill it in. I may even try to grow that trunk to a height where its taller than the right hand tree. We'll see.
Mame pokomoke. I might have to sit the pot in something bigger and allow the roots to escape again this year. It's got some filling in to do and the low left branch needs to lengthen.
