Last year @Hartinez most generously sent me this Ficus Wiandi, first picture is when I received it. It grew very well over the winter, maybe too well. I didn't notice until I brought the trops out. Two branches grew up and into the top of the shelving unit and sort of twisted around each other. They are very brittle and I fear they would snap easily if forced apart too much. I want to keep this tree a bit shorter since it will have to spend the winter in the same place. I'm not sure if I want to reduce both branches or cut one completely off. And how well do hardwood cuttings root? They are pretty thick. This one definitely needs some attention, so any suggestions are appreciated. wiandi.jpgficus wiandi.jpgficus wiandi2.jpgficus wiandi4.jpg

What TJ said for sure. They respond very well to trimming, but I’d leave at lease one leaf to cut to. You’ll find it very bare at first, but will get back budding galore after a hard cut back. They do best in full sun, but dont be surprised if quite a few of the inside leaves yellow and fall off in the process. You‘ll be rewarded with beautiful new leaves though.
