Field maple yamadori garden tree

I dug this up today and its in 20 gallons of soil. Intend to use it for shading a lettuce garden along w a fig tree.

Norway or Sugar, leaning Norway

Cut back large roots about 3" around and ive since cleaned it up on bottom root ball, not shown in these pics. Was a 20' tree until i cut it a year or two ago.

Contemplating that this thing will still grow to a larger tree if I cut it back to first or second swelling buds on the branches...they backbud and grow strong but maybe ill think on it and wait until we are clear of frost. I rolled it into garage last night and back in Sun now
