Flowers 2017

Thanks Carol, these have to be protected in winter here, no outdoor trees. But they are available in bonsai shops.

I've never seen any around here. You can find them online, but from some less reputable sources. Very pretty and delicate. I'll just enjoy yours!

Random azaleas, if anyone knows the name, please let me know

Hey Mellow Mullett, the top one looks like it might be Sakuragata. Does it have that bloom pattern over the entire tree? Also, your satsukis appear to be blooming way early. I have 2 Sakuragata, they've been around 25 years or so. When mine bloom, i'll take a few pics and maybe compare, they'are not showing any signs of bloom yet, just starting the prebloom growth .

Hey @Carol 83 or other folks, I have a hibiscus to repot/reduce this spring. Any tips as to how to approach reducing roots? Merci beaucoup!

You know I haven't been at this very long, but I was inspired by a hibiscus that @Stickroot did. I usually just let my patio hibiscus die and buy new in the spring, so I figured might as well try. I was pretty brutal with the roots, and cut the branches way back. The pictures are from last fall, when I did it. But it back budded like crazy, and is growing well. I will take a current picture when I get home from work. It needs another big trim, the leaves aren't really reducing. But I want to see it bloom first :). Not really bonsai, but a fun little project. Hope this helps.Big hibiscus.jpg little hibiscus.jpg

I don't remember, Vin. There is Amelia Rose and Amy Lee, one is pink and the other is lavender. I don't remember which is which, I'll ask my dad, he knows.

I posted on @barrosinc thread but I figured I would add it here as well. Amelia Rose Azalea:
