Forsoothe's 2020-25 Five Year Azalea Contest race to the bottom...

Spring is here and your azalea could be blooming (depending on your location) or starting to leaf out with this season’s flush……it’s time for updates!

I would also like to add at this time we have 3 prizes to award. Many thanks to @Forsoothe! and @Deep Sea Diver for donating. I am also donating a prize as well.

If you are no longer interested in continuing in the Azalea Contest, please let me know so we can close your thread, thanks.

I won't pull these out of their mulched beds until ~21st or so. We almost always have spring repossessed by Mother Nature just when we think we have it in the bag.

Yup, Mother Nature threw us a curve ball today and dropped the temps 20 degrees in just 12 hours.

Nice azalea!

Love to see those big beautiful soft red burgeoning red buds set against the variegated leaves which I imagine are rustling gently in those fresh Michigan spring winds...

cheers
DSD sends

My wife refuses to clean them, and I don't trust myself with a rabbit in one hand and a knife in the other. They are technically game animals and out of season now, so if I appeared to enjoy trapping them some do-gooder might call the Game Warden. The garden loves them, -about one foot deep. Revenge of the Lilies.

Rabbits are good eating...

We continued to raise meat/hide rabbits after we moved into town...

The thumps (Before the ‘bleeding out) scared the city-folk.

...rabbits are assholes.

So, the bloom is off the Grand Champion, but onward and upward by stealimg the lady's babies..

Looks like crap, but now the foliage has lots of time to put on a new bonnet.
