Thanks. If you click around on the links to the videos on the right, there are a few Spanish language clips that show how kakejiku are made. It's not an easy process...
Yeah, scrolls are a problem . I got addicted and now own, well, let's just say MANY...
I am also glad I have no room for large scale landscaping (and a pond). The bonsai nursery where I overwinter my live oak also run a Japanese landscaping company--The things I'd contract for if I had $$
Initially when I was buying scrolls I bought what i liked. nothing thought ahead of time how i could use it and with what. Just impulse. Then I discovered shikishi boards and could have the art made for a specific purpose. sounds like the right move till you get to adding up the cost of the artist. (they started at $60.00 ea and now have progressed in two years to double that!) LOL...hence my earlier inquirery about photos. ( if you didn't read that thread, I basically got turned down by the majority)
I think we should change our popular expression about keeping up with the jones' and change it to a popular japanese name (yoshida? sakai? )
oh, to have been born good lookin' and rich (but to discover i missed out on both)
yeah, your right! stay away from Koi, unless your blessed with one of the two attributes in the above sentence and it ain't the good looikn' part ....
