Ideas on this potential bonsai?

HI, I’m fairly new in the bonsai world. I inherited a couple of great trees from my mother in laws and I also have a couple of “bonsai material” I don’t know what shape to give them.
Any suggestions? Do you know the name of this tree?
Thank you in advance

Mother in laws🤨? How many wives you have😳? Tree has interesting potential and is NOT "material"!.

How many wives you have

Lol, sounded like a she/he has "2 moms" scenario to me.

Under the Mistletoe.....

"I saw mommy rubbing scissors with Santa Claus"...

Pruning scissors.... pruning.

No need for bullying because I misspelled. If you don’t have anything to add in regards to my question, then keep your comments to yourself.

Same thing for you. Stop being a bully and commenting if you don’t have anything to add in regards to my question.

You come here looking for answers and you can't take the heat?
Get used to it or try somewhere else. People just being people you know. And you are much to willing to point the finger.
While I tend to agree with you mostly @penumbra. The op came in and asked a simple question and got trash answers. With that said this is the internet and a public forum, so thicker skin is a must.

a couple suggestions @Mlentijo . for people to make a more informed answer. Fill in your profile fully adding your location. Also, take a few more pics with the tree at eye level from multiple angles. Bonsai are viewed at this level, not from an angle looking down. This way if people want to chime in with suggestions they can see the structure and potential future trunk line.

You are of course correct. I just came on line after dealing with intolerant people all morning.

Because that is a fig (and a true tropical) you will want to keep it outside in full sun. Figs love moisture and water - just don't keep the ground saturated or the roots might rot. With plenty of sun, water and fertilizer, the tree should start pushing new growth and will hopefully start to backbud. Figs normally handle defoliation well (as a tool to reduce leaf size, generate back-buds, and increase ramification) but only do that when the tree is really strong.

We often see fig trees here that are in bad soil, but this appears to be a good soil mix. It doesn't appear to be in need of a repotting as long as it is the same soil throughout (and there isn't a core of older soil in the center of the pot).

Gladly not everyone online is an AH like you. I came here looking for answers in regards to my Bonsai, not to deal with your stupidity and lack of manners. So please get out of my thread and leave the real experts provide the feedback I’m looking for.

I respect your stance.

Truth is, I respect the fact you love someone and they (and however many in-laws ((that's the Google correct so it must be right 🤣)) from however many of the people you love) must love you enough to heir you their trees. So you fall into a special category for me, post welcomed to Crazy, already a member, already welcome!

I was having a morning where I followed the "if you don't have anything good to say, say something anyway cuz it's a bump for others to see the thread" kinda morning.

I put the appropriate "he/she" in as a nod to this respect and the joke turned into "about bonsai" to rag on all the dumbass people who need for everything here to "be about bonsai", even if they really just want everything to be about them.
Trying to point out the stupidity of "everything should be about bonsai", cuz some ignorant shit can come out of that concept!

I didn't mean to make that statement at your expense. Please stick with us!

Regards.
