If the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, where does the rain in Houston fall...?

... ... If theres anything I can do to help, please let me know... ...
... ...On a positive note, so many friends, relatives, acquaintances and strangers have asked after my families welfare and offered to help if they could.... ...
Went to our local church today to donate... ...and ran into a line of cars 50 deep out to the street making donations and about a hundred volunteers staging them inside the church to bring to the various relief centers around town... ...
This is the most amazing!
More than the records of rainfall!
Mutual help amongst fellow human brothers and sisters!
God bless you all!

Due complement
This is the most amazing!... ... ...
Following my previous post I do apologize that I did not include Chuah mentioning Richard Lu and neighbor collecting and distributing donations.
Houston Bonsai Society member Richard Lu and his neighbor collected donations and brought them to the George R Brown shelter center... ...
Of course there are a lot more similar ones to those mentioned in this thread, thanks God!

These words made me thinking.....
... ...Saw a guy fishing by the bridge while most of Houston suffers!
... ...Perhaps the guy was catching fish for the needy... ...
....and I've come to the conclusion that this is the way our minds should think.
We should always think something good/positive and not something bad/negative when we are is attempting to judge/characterize situations or persons.
Our hearts/minds speaks what we "feed" them....
What a change would be brought to the world with something so simple as this is!

So glad the storm has ended in Houston.

It's not over for SE Texas and Western Louisiana. I pray it has mercy on places like Orange, Vidor, Beaumont and others. That region's back was broken by Hurricane Rita.
Reports this morning said Port Arthur picked up 26 inches of rain on Tuesday...bringing the four day total there since Harvey showed up to 43 inches...Hope my people in Orange, Tex. are OK. Seven inches of rain in the last 18 hours, more on the way. Report this morning Orange was getting 2-3 inches per hour. 45 mph wind with 60 Mph gusts...Hope this forecast wasn't accurate.

God Bless Texas...

We're fine, Walton. Thank you for asking. Trees are fine too - they were all safely tied to the benches or placed under the benches. Memorial Park is nearby though and a lot of it is underwater. Hermann Park is where we hold our club meetings and we're trying to understand how much damage that facility took.

Another one coming? Not sure if we will stay this time.

Still a good two weeks out and it could go anywhere, including staying out in the atlantic. Keep an eye on it though - Tuesday it is projected to be very close to where they started tracking Harvey 10 days before it made landfall.

I was weeding my potted plants and thinking about this. What if we have to leave for a week due to Irma, I really not sure what to do to all these little kids in pot. Do you have a plant? Does anyone have a plant for something like this? Plant on the ground could be flooded. Stay on the bench can get dry out if the forecast is off. Sigh....

I'm gonna start packing my closet. Smaller sizes...I can't wear anymore. About five bags...about half of what my wife had.

Glad that Harvey finally moved on for you guys. The devastation down there is horrible

Irma went from a tropical storm to a Cat 3 hurricane in less than 24 hours.
It will be a cat 4 tomorrow

Not good.

I also hope it avoids the U.S. coast
